TECH TIP #10: Length
of MIC Cables

| Only low
impedance microphones (600-ohms or less) should be used with MIC cable
longer than 10 feet. Consequently, the use of high impedance
microphones (10k ohms and higher) should be limited to installations such
as paging where the MIC and the amplifier are located very close together.
